Al-Ittihad has now opened talks with Mohamed Salah.

Mohamed Salah to Al-Ittihad

Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad has now opened talks with Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool star has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for some time now.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, the reigning Saudi Pro League champions have made initial contact with the entourage of the Egyptian.

Recently, the Tigers lost their superstar, Karim Benzema, to their direct rivals, Al-Hilal. They fell out with the Frenchman during new contract talks.

That is why they are looking for a new face for their project. Meanwhile, a massive shift could be on the cards in the Middle East.

There is no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr brought global eyeballs to the Saudi league. Also, the Portuguese star’s move helped the Saudi Pro League clubs sign global stars.

Now, Ronaldo is having issues with the management of the Saudi Pro League, primarily, the Public Investment Fund that owns Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, and Al-Ahly.

The 41-year-old believes that the PIF has overlooked his club and helped their rivals to strengthen their squad during the January window.

So, there are rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo might leave Saudi Arabia next season. In that scenario, the Saudi league needs another face.

That is why the Saudi Pro League clubs will push for Mohamed Salah, and the management wants to make the Egyptian the next face of their league.

Transfer News Live has reported that Liverpool are already setting their sights on the replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Thus, with Al-Ittihad opening talks with Salah, things could move fast in the summer, and the 33-year-old could apply his trade in the Middle East next season.
