Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey now faces fresh legal trouble. However, this latest development adds to an already serious case that began earlier.

The 32-year-old has now been charged with two further counts of rape involving a new alleged victim. These new charges follow an earlier case.

In July, authorities charged Partey with five counts of rape against two women. He also faced a sexual assault charge involving a third woman.

Now, he stands accused of sexual offences involving four women in total. According to reports, the latest charges relate to a separate complaint made in August.

The Metropolitan Police launched a new investigation into allegations dating back to 2020.

Partey will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 13 March for his first hearing regarding the new charges. Previously, the Ghana international denied all accusations against him.

In September, he pleaded not guilty to rape and sexual assault at Southwark Crown Court. The court granted him conditional bail at that time.

The alleged offences linked to the earlier charges took place between 2021 and 2022. During that period, he played for Arsenal.

Notably, authorities charged him four days after his contract with Arsenal expired at the end of June. Police first began investigating the matter in February 2022 after receiving an initial report of rape.

Meanwhile, the trial for the earlier charges will begin on 2 November this year under a High Court judge. Since leaving the Premier League, Partey has continued his career in Spain.

He currently plays for Villarreal after joining the club on a one-year deal in the summer. The Spanish side confirmed his signing after he had already been charged.

Thomas Partey moved to Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in October 2020 for £45.3 million. He made 130 Premier League appearances under Mikel Arteta.
