Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Europe next summer. The Portuguese is not happy at his current club, Al-Nassr. And, Chelsea are once again linked with a move for Ronaldo.
This is not the first time Chelsea’s name has been linked with a move for Cristiano Ronaldo. When he left Manchester United for the Saudi Arabian club, the Blues were also linked to the Portuguese.
Now, Chelsea don’t sign players past their 40s. Ronaldo is currently 41. Still, the Blues are ready to alter their transfer policy to sign one of the greatest players to have ever played this game.
However, there is one condition they have already set for the move to happen. And, the move will not go through unless Ronaldo and his entourage meet that condition.
Last summer, Chelsea signed two strikers, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. Now, Pedro had a decent start to his time at Stamford Bridge. But Delap has been struggling most of the time, mainly due to injuries.
That is why Chelsea want to add an experienced man to lead the line, and they are looking to bring in a man who is close to scoring 1000 goals.
However, according to Football Insider, Cristiano Ronaldo will have to take a massive pay cut if he wants to join Chelsea.
Still, the report suggests that unless anything dramatic happens, Chelsea are unlikely to move for the veteran striker.
Previously, Manchester United were also linked with Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the Portuguese will find it difficult get a club that could afford his astronomical wages and sign him.
🚨 Chelsea are closely monitoring Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract situation at Al Nassr amid speculation the 41-year-old could look to force a move away from Saudi Arabia this summer.
