Barcelona and Real Madrid are both looking to sign a defender next summer. Now, with recent developments, they have received a massive boost in their pursuit of a Premier League defender.
The Los Blancos have once again suffered a defeat at the hands of Getafe. With this loss, they are now four points behind Barcelona, who are leading the La Liga table.
That is why they need to find a centre-back desperately next summer. With the likes of David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger set to leave the club, they need to sign their replacements.
Apart from that, the performance of Raul Asencio has been poor. That is why they will be looking to sign a new centre-back. And, they have set their sights on a Premier League defender.
On the other hand, Barcelona are also tracking the same player. The loss to Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey was an eye-opener for Deco and Hansi Flick, as they need a defensive leader.
That is why both Spanish clubs are eyeing a move for the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Micky van de Ven. And both clubs have now received a huge boost in their pursuit of the player.
According to Sports Boom (via GIVEMESPORT), Micky van de Ven has turned down new contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur. His current deal with the Spurs runs until 2029.
So, both Spanish clubs will have to pay a high transfer fee to sign the Dutch defender. Thus, they will hope that the Spurs get relegated so that his transfer fee could go down significantly.
🚨 Micky van de Ven is currently not interested in extending his contract at Tottenham with the club under-performing.
