Real Madrid are not happy with their recent results in La Liga. The club lost to Getafe at Santiago Bernabeu. As a result, they are now four points behind Barcelona in the league table.
Also, they have a crunch game against Manchester City in the Champions League last 16. That is why these few games will be crucial for the future of Alvaro Arbeloa.
Real Madrid sacked Xabi Alonso after appointing him last summer from Bayer Leverkusen. After that, they brought in Arbeloa to turn things around.
However, the recent results have been disappointing as they also lost to Osasuna last month. But their recent win against Celta Vigo will give hope to Madrid fans.
However, Arbeloa’s future is far from secured. So, Real Madrid are already looking at the possible replacements for the Spaniard if they have to sack him abruptly.
Now, they have set their sights on a manager that Tottenham Hotspur also want. The Premier League side is struggling at the moment.
They are just a point ahead of the relegation zone. So, they will be desperate to survive and start fresh next season under a new manager.
The Spurs already know the manager they would want to hire next summer. Even their fans are backing him to take up the job. However, the Los Blancos are also tracking him.
According to ESPN, both Real Madrid and Tottenham have Mauricio Pochettino on their list of managerial targets.
The Argentine will manage the United States of America national team in the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Pochettino will decide his future after the quadrennial tournament.
So, with Real Madrid in the hunt for Pochettino, it will not be easy for the Spurs to bring one of their most successful manager in recent times back to North London.
