Arne Slot has confirmed a boost for Liverpool’s defensive options, but also revealed fresh concerns ahead of their trip to Leeds United.

After a disappointing game against Sunderland, Liverpool will be looking to have a better game at Elland Road.

The Reds had to settle for a draw against the Black Cats at Anfield. Also, one social media mistake from Liverpool has brought criticism to the club in that game.

Arne Slot sat down for a pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Leeds United, where he gave fitness updates for his players.

Conor Bradley, out since November with a muscular injury, has finally returned to full training and is expected to feature at Elland Road. Slot made it clear the young full-back is in contention, stating:

“Conor Bradley has trained this week, so I expect him to train today and then he is available to be in the squad tomorrow.”

Liverpool’s form has dipped in recent weeks, with only three wins from their last nine games. And the absence of both Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong has added to the strain.

While Bradley’s return offers relief, Slot delivered a more cautious update on Joe Gomez. He is currently playing through discomfort after taking a knock against West Ham.

Explaining the situation, Slot said:

“Joe Gomez got a knock in the West Ham game but was still able to start. He couldn’t make the full 90 minutes but I think he will be able to train again today.”

Looking ahead to Leeds, Slot acknowledged the difficulty of the challenge, referencing their aggressive and resilient style. He noted:

“Either Leeds went very aggressive to one-v-one or they went to a low block and it was really hard to create chances.

“It’s not only difficult for us, that playing style, it’s difficult for many teams – including us.”

Liverpool travel to Elland Road needing momentum, and Slot’s mixed injury news sets the stage for another demanding test.
