Barcelona fans have made their feelings clear on Marcus Rashford’s future. A recent poll has asked whether the club should sign the forward on a permanent deal.
Rashford joined FC Barcelona on loan from Manchester United in the summer. Since then, he has settled quickly in Spain.
The 28-year-old has become a regular under Hansi Flick. He has featured consistently across competitions and has played an important role in the team.
So far this season, Rashford has made 24 appearances in all competitions. He has scored seven goals and provided 11 assists. That return has impressed supporters.
Mundo Deportivo ran a poll asking fans if Barcelona should activate the purchase option in his deal. The results were mixed but leaned in Rashford’s favour.
According to the poll, 54.6 per cent of fans want Barcelona to sign him permanently. The club have the option to buy Rashford for £26 million at the end of the season.
However, not everyone agrees. More than a third of supporters voted against the move. Another 6.3 per cent feel the club should wait until the season ends before deciding.
Rashford has been reliable since arriving. He has missed only one match due to illness. His availability has helped him gain trust inside the squad.
The poll result is expected to please Flick. Reports from SPORT claim the German coach is happy with Rashford’s impact and would like him to stay.
Off the pitch, Rashford has also won support. Over Christmas, he delivered presents to children at two Barcelona Foundation centres.
Barcelona return to action on January 3 after the winter break. Their last match was a 2-0 LaLiga win over Villarreal, which moved them four points clear of Real Madrid at the top.
