In the past, Barcelona had a knack for developing young players and making them global superstars.
The prime example of that principle is the player, who has now become one of the greatest footballers ever to play this beautiful game.
Lionel Messi has won the coveted Ballon d’Or eight times in his career so far. And, he came out of La Masia, the academy of FC Barcelona.
However, in recent years, Barcelona had slightly deviated from their old principle. So, the downfall of the Catalan giants was quite visible.
But to a certain extent, under their previous manager Xavi Hernandez and the current boss Hansi Flick, Barcelona are once again focusing on their academy graduates.
That is why they are also focusing on signing young and talented players from around the globe.
Players like Roony Bardghji and Joan Garcia are a prime example of that philosophy getting reinstated at Camp Nou.
Also, players like Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal are perfect examples of the talent La Masia possesses. Now, it seems like Barcelona are looking to add another name to that list.
According to Fichajes, the Spanish giants are looking to sign the Brazilian wonderkid Rayan from Vasco da Gama.
The 19-year-old has shown his class for the Brazilian club. That is why Deco is quite impressed and ready to bring him to Barcelona.
Also, the Spanish giants will have to pay around €25 million. Barcelona are ready to make such investments as they know these players can become a global superstar in the future.
Rayan has an impressive record this season in the Brazilian Serie A. He played 30 games for Vasco da Gama and scored 12 goals.
That is why the Catalan giants will be eager to have the 19-year-old at Camp Nou.
