Liverpool had a shocking outing against Nottingham Forest at Anfield. They lost the game by 3-0 unexpectedly. Forest are fighting for relegation this season.
And Liverpool are the reigning Premier League champions. So, the expectation was that Liverpool would easily get the win against Forest.
Also, they lost to Manchester City before the November international break by the same margin as they did to Forest.
City literally humbled the Reds at the Etihad. However, Liverpool fans were hoping that their team would deliver a solid performance against Forest.
But what happened at Anfield shocked everyone. That is why they are now crying for the sack of their manager, who won the Premier League last season.
Slot is undoubtedly one of those managers who shocked the entire English top-flight division and won the Premier League in his first season.
The Dutch manager replaced Jurgen Klopp, which was a challenging task. The German boss has already left a legacy behind.
So, replacing a manager who helped Liverpool lift the Champions League after 14 years and the top-flight English league championship after 30 years should have been tough.
However, Arne Slot did that with ease as he lifted the Premier League trophy in his first season. That is why this season, the Reds went out of their way to back their manager.
They invested around £450 million to bring in players that Arne Slot wanted. However, the results are going in the completely opposite direction to what Liverpool fans were expecting.
That is why they are now demanding his sacking. And after the loss to Nottingham Forest, the odds of the Dutch manager’s sacking went up staggeringly.
And, the odds for the man tipped to replace him have increased to 52%. Yes, according to betting odds, Jurgen Klopp is the favourite to return to Anfield to replace Arne Slot.
However, the Liverpool board is backing Slot. But if things don’t improve, the writing could be on the wall.
There are many cases when a Premier League manager got the sack the next season after winning the title. And Arne Slot could be the next in line if things don’t improve.
