Controversial World Cup manager collapses after brawl between two wives and then divorces one of them

The FIFA World Cup remains the biggest stage in international football. Every four years, nations compete for the game’s most prestigious trophy.

The tournament regularly produces dramatic matches, major upsets and unforgettable moments. The 2026 World Cup provided another memorable encounter when Egypt faced Argentina.

Egypt entered the contest looking to upset the reigning champions. They stunned Argentina by establishing a two-goal advantage.

Yasser Ibrahim and Mostafa Ziko scored to put Egypt in control. However, Argentina responded and eventually completed a dramatic 3-2 comeback.

The defeat ended Egypt’s campaign in the round of 16. Their elimination also produced controversy involving manager Hossam Hassan.

Officials had to restrain Hassan during a confrontation, while goalkeeping coach Saafan El-Sagheer received a red card.

Just over a month after the World Cup, Hassan has now become involved in another extraordinary incident.

According to talkSPORT, Hossam Hassan collapsed while attempting to stop a physical fight between his two wives at a Porto Marina hotel.

Howaida El-Gharbawy and Dina Mostafa reportedly started arguing inside a cafe. The disagreement soon developed into a physical confrontation.

Security personnel intervened as the situation escalated. Both women reportedly suffered cuts and bruises.

Hassan attempted to separate his two wives during the fight. Al Arabiya reported that he then fainted amid the stress.

The Egypt manager subsequently divorced Howaida, his first wife. Mohamed Shams, who represents Dina, later confirmed the divorce.

Hassan and Howaida have three children together. They previously separated in 2022 but resumed their marriage after 10 days. Hassan married Dina in 2015.

Egyptian law allows a man to have up to four wives simultaneously. However, he must inform his existing and prospective wives about another marriage.
