Manchester City are getting their mojo back. Erling Haaland is once again scoring goals for fun. The Norwegian has scored 14 goals in 11 Premier League games for the Citizens this season.
The start was not ideal for Manchester City this season in the Premier League. However, they are getting back to where they were two seasons ago.
However, there is one thing that has not moved on. And the entire football world is waiting for the verdict on the 115 charges against Manchester City.
Stefan Borson, a former Manchester City financial adviser, told Football Insider that both the Premier League and the club are “in the dark”.
It is because the commission did not set firm deadlines for delivering its verdict. He said the panel’s process has left City unsure of when the decision will arrive, forcing them to continue as normal.
According to Borson, the timing has become even more complicated. He explained that releasing a verdict during the season would create major disruption.
December brings its own issues, with the football world slowing down for Christmas. He admitted that “ordinarily you would definitely have expected it to be out by now”.
At the same time, he warned that if the verdict does not arrive during this international break, predicting a date becomes impossible.
The reasoning behind the extended silence from the independent panel remains unclear. Away from the legal case itself, Premier League chair Alison Brittain faces her own scrutiny.
Clubs are set to vote on whether to re-elect her this week, adding another layer of tension to a situation already under heavy spotlight. For now, Manchester City continue business as usual.
The verdict, however, hangs over everything and the wait goes on with no certainty over when the long-running saga will finally reach its conclusion.
