Even after last weekend’s 2-0 win over West Ham, questions lingered over Arne Slot, who replaced Jurgen Klopp last year.

Klopp’s name surfaced after Liverpool’s poor start to the season, with just seven wins from their first 13 Premier League games.

The Telegraph‘s Sam Wallace says the ex-Reds manager is still focused on leading Red Bull’s worldwide football work, dashing dreams of a quick return to Anfield.

Still, Jurgen Klopp probably won’t go back to Liverpool, even though some rumours suggest a dramatic return.

But Wallace explains that Klopp’s recent comments about a “theoretical” return were nothing more than a casual acknowledgement.

He has already taken an active role in the Red Bull setup, even being part of the decision to remove Marco Rose from RB Leipzig earlier this year.

That does not mean Slot is completely safe. Wallace points out FSG can still play hardball when needed, though their style’s nothing like most owners.

Klopp took over at Red Bull in January, right after saying goodbye to Liverpool in 2024 – ending a run packed with eight big titles, like the Premier League and Champions League.

For now, Liverpool ended a three-match losing streak by beating West Ham. This time, Mohamed Salah was on the bench for the first time in the Premier League campaign.

Alexander Isak found the net, while Cody Gakpo also got on the scoresheet to lock in the win.

Liverpool are getting ready to face sixth-place Sunderland at home, then head out for a game against Leeds over the weekend.
