Jeff Bezos is set to buy a large stake in Liverpool. This could be a massive step towards a change in the direction of the Reds.
The consortium includes Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. They will buy a large minority stake in the club, according to Sky News.
The group is led by Amit Bhatia and is closing in on purchasing roughly one-third of Liverpool.
FSG could announce the agreement as early as this week, although the process may extend into next week. The investment could value Liverpool at around $6 billion.
FSG would remain the controlling shareholder, but the arrival of investors with enormous financial resources would represent a major development at Anfield.
The deal comes during an important transitional period for Liverpool following a disappointing 2025–26 campaign.
Arne Slot’s side struggled badly despite entering the season as defending Premier League champions.
Liverpool endured inconsistent performances and suffered a damaging four-match losing run during the autumn.
They eventually finished fifth with 60 points and secured Champions League qualification.
However, the disappointing campaign cost Slot his job. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate subsequently left on free transfers.
Liverpool appointed Andoni Iraola as their new head coach and have started rebuilding his squad.
Jeremy Jacquet arrived from Rennes in a deal worth up to £60 million, while Victor Munoz and Ifeanyi Ndukwe also joined.
Liverpool are also closing in on a season-long loan for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
Meanwhile, the Reds remain in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola as they seek another major attacking addition.
Iraola’s pre-season has produced mixed results. Liverpool beat Sunderland and Wrexham before losing 4–2 against Leeds United.
Their first Anfield outing under Iraola also ended in defeat. Liverpool surrendered a two-goal advantage and lost 3–2 against Monaco despite goals from Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.
The Reds will finish their preparations against Como before opening their Premier League campaign against Newcastle United on August 23.
