Jamal Musiala became the centre of an extraordinary transfer story after reports emerged linking him with a shock move away from Bayern Munich.
The Bayern attacker endured a difficult 2025-26 campaign after recovering from a broken leg and dislocated ankle suffered at the Club World Cup.
He returned in January and eventually made 24 appearances across all competitions, contributing five goals and six assists.
Musiala also represented Germany at the 2026 World Cup before their Round of 32 elimination. Meanwhile, speculation surrounding his future has continued.
Arsenal have been linked with the 23-year-old, although Bayern consider him an important part of their plans.
However, the most remarkable transfer claim came from Turkey and has now resulted in legal consequences for the journalist involved.
According to Halk TV, Galatasaray reporter Burhan Can Terzi has been detained following his reporting about Musiala.
Terzi had claimed that the Bayern star would transfer to Galatasaray. However, the Turkish club released a statement denying the transfer rumours just hours after his report emerged.
Despite that denial, Terzi continued to stand behind his information. He said while insisting that his report was accurate:
“I’m putting my life on the line.”
The report states that Galatasaray themselves did not file a complaint against the journalist.
Instead, some supporters complained that Terzi continued making false statements despite the club’s denial, potentially misleading the public.
Following those complaints, the Bakirkoy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into the matter.
The prosecutor’s office subsequently ordered Terzi’s detention over allegations of ‘publicly disseminating misleading information.’
Authorities then took him to the Istanbul Provincial Police Department Security Branch Directorate to give his statement.
The sensational Musiala transfer report ultimately triggered an extraordinary chain of events that led authorities to take the journalist into custody.
