Real Madrid decided to sack Xabi Alonso after they lost the Spanish Super Cup final to their arch-rivals, Barcelona.
Florentino Perez reportedly was not happy with the results. Also, Alonso had lost the backing of the dressing room.
As a result, his departure was just a matter of time. And it seemed that the planning for his departure had already begun at Valdebebas.
As soon as the Spanish giants announced Alonso’s departure, they announced Alvaro Arbeloa as their next manager, and they gave him a contract until 2027.
So, Arbeloa is not an interim like Michael Carrick, who became the interim boss of Manchester United. However, one name keeps popping up during the managerial discussion of Madrid.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly the manager Real Madrid will appoint if Arbeloa cannot turn things around.
According to Spanish reports (via TEAMtalk), Jurgen Klopp has already made his mind clear about one thing he wants if he takes over at Valdebebas. And it starts with Vinicius Junior.
The first thing the German manager would want is to sell Vinicius Junior. Klopp doesn’t want Vinicius in his team.
The Brazilian did score a beautiful solo goal in the Super Cup final. However, it was his first goal in 16 games. This inconsistency from one of the top players of the team is unacceptable.
That is why no wonder Real Madrid are suffering this season. That is why Klopp wants Vinicius gone before he takes over at Madrid.
Vinicius’ contract will expire in 2027, and the talks of a new contract are now stalled. The Brazilian is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabian clubs.
Also, Transfer News Live has revealed the player Jurgen Klopp would want to sign first if he joins Real Madrid.
Now, Arbeloa’s first game in charge ended in a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Albacete, as the Madrid giants crashed out of the Copa del Rey.
So, it will be interesting to see whether Arbeloa could turn things around at Madrid or the Los Blancos have to approach Jurgen Klopp to get back to their best.
