Jurgen Klopp’s release clause revealed amid Liverpool links

Liverpool could consider Klopp again if they make changes.

Jurgen Klopp has once again been linked with a return to Liverpool. The speculation comes during a difficult season for the club under Arne Slot.

Klopp enjoyed a hugely successful spell at Anfield before leaving in 2024. Arne Slot replace him and delivered the Premier League title in his first season.

However, Liverpool have failed to reach similar levels this campaign. Because of that, there have been questions about Slot’s future.

Some reports have suggested Liverpool could consider Klopp again if they make changes. Any such move would depend on Klopp’s current role.

He is now working as Red Bull’s head of global soccer. That position ties him closely to the multi club project.

Red Bull chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff has now addressed the situation. Speaking to German outlet Welt, he confirmed there is no release clause in Klopp’s contract. He said:

“Jurgen Klopp feels completely at home with us and has already learned a tremendous amount here. There’s no release clause in his contract, and he’s clearly committed to us.

“He has no intention of looking for anything else. If something were to come along, we’d have to deal with it. But there are absolutely no indications of that.

“If the DFB were to approach Jurgen, I would ask Bernd Neuendorf (DFB President) why he no longer wants such an outstanding national coach (Julian Nagelsmann).”

Mintzlaff also praised Klopp’s impact within the Red Bull structure. He highlighted his role in Leipzig’s recent progress and his influence across clubs. He said:

“Jurgen Klopp was our marquee signing, coming on a free transfer. When he talks to young players we’d like to sign, it’s a game-changer.”

For now, Jurgen Klopp remains committed to Red Bull. Any return to Liverpool appears unlikely at this stage.
