Change has come quickly at Dagenham & Redbridge. The club only recently entered a new era under KSI, but decisions are already being made. And this latest one has caught attention.
Despite a decent run of results, the hierarchy have acted. Since the takeover, Dagenham have played four matches.
They won two, drew one, and lost one. Also, Dagenham & Redbridge won their first game under the ownership of KSI.
So, on the surface, things looked stable. However, the club have still made a change. They sacked their manager Lee Bradbury.
The decision was confirmed in an official statement released on Wednesday. The club said:
“Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club can confirm that we have parted company with First-Team Manager, Lee Bradbury.
“We are very grateful to Lee for his focus, professionalism, and commitment during his time at the Club and for his contributions, both on and off the pitch, to stabilise the club last summer.
“Dagenham & Redbridge wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
So, attention quickly turned to the replacement. For now, the club have opted for an internal solution. They have appointed Andy Caroll, who is still part of their squad.
The former Liverpool and Newcastle United striker will take charge as the interim manager. The announcement confirmed he will take charge of the team immediately.
Carroll only joined the club in the summer after leaving Bordeaux. Since then, he has scored six goals in 12 National League appearances.
Now, he steps into a very different role. He has been out injured since December. But he will return to action from the touchline instead of the pitch.
His first game in charge is expected to be against Torquay United, managed by Neil Warnock.
Off the pitch, there is also ongoing attention around Carroll. He is due to face a court case in 2027 related to allegations involving a non-molestation order. However, KSI has made his ambitions clear.
