Lamine Yamal’s latest Instagram story has left Barcelona fans speculating after a cryptic and emotional message went viral.
The Barcelona teenager has become one of the most talked-about players in world football. His performances already command headlines.
However, even his actions away from the pitch now spark debate. This time, it was an Instagram story.
The young forward shared a photo that immediately raised questions among supporters. The image showed a very dark room.
In the background, only a faint outline of Barcelona was visible. Meanwhile, the main focus of the image was a dimly lit computer screen.
On that screen, a document appeared to be open. At the top of the page, a title stood out: “Chapter 1: My inner abyss.” Below it, just one sentence appeared clearly.
“I would like to be what everyone wants me to be.”
That single line triggered an instant reaction online. Fans began to speculate about the meaning. Some believed it could mark the beginning of a personal autobiography.
Others suggested it might be part of a creative project. Meanwhile, a section of supporters felt it reflected a private thought that he decided to share publicly.
Lamine Yamal has been the superstar of the Barcelona squad without any doubt. Last year, he came second on the Ballon d’Or rankings.
Also, pundits scrutinise every move on and off the field he makes. So, he has been living under pressure for a long time at such a tender age.
So, this could also be a reflection of his mental state. However, he needs to be ready for the next match as the Catalan giants need him after their 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Atletico Madrid.
They will face Girona in their next La Liga fixture, and Hansi Flick has already delivered a huge boost for the squad during his press conference.
However, Girona will reportedly be without their only natural left-back, Alex Moreno. That could leave a makeshift defender tasked with stopping Yamal.
So, Lamine Yamal will have a great chance of increasing his goal tally for the season in this game.
