Liam Rosenior is having a tough start to his Chelsea career as a manager. So far, he has managed 12 games for the Blues, recording 8 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws.
Now, this may seem like a fairly successful run. However, the recent results will come under scrutiny.
After surrendering the lead against both Leeds United and Burnley, Chelsea have gone behind in the top 4 race.
Manchester United won their game against Everton, which means the Red Devils are three points clear in fourth position in the table.
Also, their next game is against Arsenal at the Emirates. So, it will be a real challenge for Rosenior to get his team back to contention for Champions League qualification.
With that said, Chelsea are already planning for the summer transfer window. Their hierarchy is very happy with Rosenior’s performance so far.
That is why they are planning their future with the former Hull City manager. Now, there are several players who could leave the Blues next summer.
However, there is one player Liam Rosenior is reluctant to lose. According to Football Insider, Rosenior would not like to sell Liam Delap next summer.
The Blues signed the former Ipswich Town forward with high hopes. Manchester United were also looking to sign him. However, he picked Chelsea over the Red Devils.
However, his career so far with Chelsea has not gone the way he envisioned. In 31 games in all competitions for the Blues, he has managed only three goals so far. He also managed four assists.
Delap’s contract with Chelsea is valid until 2031. Now, Everton are looking to sign the struggling English striker.
However, with Rosenior reluctant to sell him, it looks like Liam Delap could stay at Chelsea next season as well.
