Manchester City have already identified a possible replacement of Guardiol.

Manchester City are preparing for major changes behind the scenes this summer. The uncertainty around the Etihad has continued to grow in recent months.

Pep Guardiola has repeatedly avoided confirming whether he will remain at the club beyond this season despite having one year left on his contract.

Now, two important departures have only increased speculation surrounding the Spaniard’s own future at the club.

As per The Athletic, Fitness coach Lorenzo Buenaventura will leave Manchester City this summer after working alongside Guardiola for more than 15 years.

The Italian first joined Guardiola during his Barcelona days before following him to Bayern Munich and later Manchester City.

Goalkeeping coach Xabi Mancisidor is also leaving the club at the end of the season.

Mancisidor was already at City before Guardiola arrived in 2016 but remained part of the Spaniard’s backroom staff throughout his time at the Etihad.

Their exits represent another major blow for City supporters, who are still hoping Guardiola stays and completes the final year of his contract.

Meanwhile, Manchester City could also lose several important players this summer.

Bernardo Silva will leave once his contract expires, while John Stones could also depart after being one of Guardiola’s earliest signings at the club.

However, Buenaventura’s departure may prove especially significant because of his close relationship with Guardiola.

Because of the uncertainty surrounding Guardiola’s future, Manchester City have already identified a possible replacement for Guardiola.

Former City assistant Enzo Maresca has emerged as one of the leading candidates after leaving Chelsea in January. Reports have suggested he recently held talks with Manchester City’s hierarchy.

Despite the growing speculation, Guardiola will be determined to keep his players focused during the final weeks of the campaign.

Manchester City still have an outside chance of winning the Premier League title. They sit two points behind Arsenal with two matches remaining.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s FA Cup final against Chelsea also offers Guardiola another opportunity to finish the season with silverware.
