A Premier League ground is set for a dramatic transformation. However, the changes will not arrive overnight.
Instead, supporters will watch the redevelopment unfold in stages, beginning at the end of this season.
Many Premier League clubs are looking to transform their stadiums and make them state-of-the-art. Now, one of those clubs has confirmed their plans.
Bournemouth have confirmed that the Vitality Stadium will undergo a major overhaul. The most significant change will see the South Stand demolished to make way for a new 3,000-seat lower tier.
Now, this is only a part of the plan. Both the south-east and north-west corners will be infilled, creating a more complete bowl structure.
Turnstiles for all stands will also be relocated to a new outer perimeter. The redesign will create a larger external concourse area, alongside a newly-built ticket office.
Inside the stadium, further improvements will take place. The East and West Stands will receive internal refurbishments. Three new hospitality spaces will also be added as part of the upgrade.
When complete, the redevelopment will increase capacity by more than 1,500 seats in the short term.
Ultimately, after the completion of this project, the ground could hold around 20,200 supporters.
The club confirmed the plans in an official statement on Monday. Building work will continue throughout the 2026-27 season, meaning fans will experience the transition in real time.
The planning application remains in the consultation phase, and a planning committee will review it in early May. The BCP Council had approved initial proposals last month.
This is a clear signal of progress. On the pitch, Bournemouth currently sit eighth in the Premier League with 38 points from matches. They host Sunderland next.
