A former Premier League player has had a major scare as thieves raided his villa. It was a shocking incident for a player who has broken many records in the English top-flight football.
However, thieves have broken into his house in a shocking way. Winning the English Premier League is very tough.
Arsenal are finding that out for the last three seasons. They are constantly finishing in the second position. Also, only a few players had the privilege of lifting the Premier League trophy.
In 2016, Leicester City shocked the world by winning the Premier League. And the man who became a superstar from that squad left England this season to play for Cremonese in Serie A.
Jamie Vardy suffered a major scare in Italy after a group of thieves broke into his Lake Garda villa and stole around £80,000 worth of valuables.
The gang reportedly forced their way in through a window before taking jewellery, watches, cash and other expensive items, including a Patek Philippe.
A police source told the Daily Mail that investigators believe the thieves watched the villa closely and struck while Vardy and his family were away in Rome.
Vardy and his wife, Rebekah, live in a £2m home in Salo, a historic town once linked to Benito Mussolini.
The couple settled quickly into Italian life, with locals often spotting them at restaurants and around the lakeside.
There are reports that the pair are already loving their new Italian life and doing everything they can to blend in with the city.
The striker moved to Cremonese after leaving Leicester City following 13 seasons and 183 goals.
He described life in Italy as “absolutely brilliant”, even if the “quiet city” proved livelier than expected.
Since arriving, Vardy has scored twice in eight matches, including his first Serie A goal against Atalanta last month.
