Real Madrid are once again dealing with an injury crisis. Rodrygo ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee during Madrid’s game against Getafe.
So, the Los Blancos not only lost the game but also lost one of their key players for the rest of the season. He joins a long list of Real Madrid players who are missing games.
The Spanish giants are already missing the presence of Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham. Now, with Rodrygo set to be out for a considerable time, Vinicius Junior needs to step up.
The Brazilian is already demanding signings from Real Madrid next summer. Now, he needs to deliver on the pitch because of the latest injury setback of his compatriot.
Real Madrid recently put out a statement to give an update on the condition of Rodrygo. The statement read:
“Our player Rodrygo has successfully undergone surgery for the ruptures of the anterior cruciate ligament and the external meniscus of his right leg.
“The operation was performed by Dr. Manuel Leyes under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Rodrygo will begin his rehabilitation work in the coming days.”
Real Madrid’s next big game will be against Manchester City in the Champions League, and they will be without several key players, which will be an advantage for the Citizens.
