Tottenham Hotspur show interest in signing Chelsea star

Despite interest from Tottenham, no club-to-club negotiations have started.

Tottenham Hotspur have already invested heavily in Roberto De Zerbi’s squad this summer after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.

The club focused on rebuilding the defence and midfield, bringing in Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.

But attacking reinforcements remain a priority before the new campaign begins. Spurs have also enjoyed an encouraging preseason under De Zerbi.

Victories over MK Dons, Auckland FC and Chelsea, alongside a penalty shootout success against Sydney FC, have provided momentum ahead of the Premier League season.

However, the Italian manager believes further additions are still required to complete his squad.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are now interested in signing Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea.

The Senegal international is firmly under consideration as Spurs assess options to strengthen their forward line.

De Zerbi wants another attacker after overseeing major investment in other areas of the squad.

Chelsea reportedly value Jackson at £65 million, while Aston Villa also admire the 25-year-old.

Villa would need to pursue a permanent transfer because they have already signed Alejandro Garnacho on loan.

Meanwhile, Jackson is open to leaving Stamford Bridge in search of more regular first-team football.

Tottenham have admired Jackson for some time, with their interest predating De Zerbi’s appointment.

Chelsea, meanwhile, want to reduce their number of strikers following the arrival of Danny Welbeck, making Jackson one of the more realistic candidates to depart this summer.

Despite interest from Tottenham, no club-to-club negotiations have started.

Jackson has rejoined Chelsea’s pre-season squad in Hong Kong after the World Cup, and manager Xabi Alonso wants to assess him before making a final decision on his future.
