AC Milan have started the 2026/27 Serie A season unbeaten under new head coach Ruben Amorim.
The Rossoneri opened with a 2–1 victory over Torino before beating Venezia 2–0. They then earned a 1–1 draw away to Juventus, with Alphadjo Cisse scoring for Milan.
Amorim’s squad underwent major changes during the summer transfer window. Milan strengthened their attack by signing Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain for a guaranteed €70M.
Diego Moreira, Mario Gila and Sankhoun Diawara also arrived during the summer. Additionally, Milan brought in Omari Hutchinson on loan from Nottingham Forest.
Meanwhile, Rafael Leao, Alvaro Morata and Christopher Nkunku were among the players to leave the club.
Despite signing Ramos, Milan also explored the possibility of adding another forward before the window closed.
According to Calciomercato, AC Milan identified Real Madrid striker Endrick as their preferred attacking target. The Rossoneri worked on a possible deal for at least two weeks.
Mian held direct discussions with senior Real Madrid officials over a potential move for the Brazilian. However, Jose Mourinho opposed allowing Endrick to leave on loan.
The decision prevented Milan from completing a summer move, but their interest has not disappeared.
Milan plan to return for Endrick when the January transfer window opens. Their preferred formula would be a loan containing an option to buy.
However, any potential deal could depend significantly on Endrick’s involvement at Real Madrid during the first half of the season. The forward has yet to feature this campaign because of injury problems.
Milan believe Endrick could provide cover for Ramos as a striker. He could also operate as an attacking midfielder behind the Portuguese forward.
Amorim and Milan’s recruitment team intend to make another attempt in January regardless.
Endrick represents part of their strategy to revisit previously unsuccessful targets as they continue developing the squad.
