Manchester City have started a new era under Enzo Maresca following Pep Guardiola’s departure from the club.
Their preparations were disrupted by staggered returns after the 2026 World Cup, leaving Maresca with a depleted squad initially.
City then lost 3–0 against Arsenal in the Community Shield before responding positively in their Premier League opener.
Maresca’s side beat Bournemouth 2–1 after late goals from Marc Guehi and Josko Gvardiol completed the comeback.
Meanwhile, City have overseen major squad changes during the summer as Maresca reshapes his options for the season.
Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, Bernardo Silva and Savinho have all departed, while several new players have arrived.
City have also remained open to further departures before the September 1 deadline as their squad transition continues.
According to Football Insider, AC Milan have registered their interest in signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City this summer.
The Italian club would need the transfer fee to remain below £10 million before completing a permanent agreement.
Milan manager Ruben Amorim wants to strengthen his forward options, particularly with Rafael Leao looking likely to leave San Siro.
Grealish spent last season on loan at Everton after falling out of favour during Guardiola’s final campaign at City.
He scored two goals and provided six assists across 22 appearances before suffering a serious foot injury in January.
The injury required surgery and ended his season, although Grealish remained on Merseyside while completing his rehabilitation.
Everton had considered bringing him back permanently, but David Moyes has decided against pursuing another deal.
Grealish has nevertheless featured in both of City’s competitive matches this season, including 14 minutes against Bournemouth.
Maresca has also refused to guarantee what will happen with Grealish before the summer transfer window closes.
