Alvaro Arbeloa wants two Real Madrid forwards at Fulham

Fulham are now looking to strengthen their attacking options before beginning their new season against Chelsea.

Fulham are entering a new era after appointing Alvaro Arbeloa as their new manager on a three-year contract.

The former Real Madrid boss replaced Marco Silva after Fulham finished 11th in the Premier League with 52 points.

However, Arbeloa faces an immediate rebuilding job after losing two important attacking options ahead of the new season.

Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson both left Craven Cottage on free transfers after their contracts expired this summer.

Wilson has joined Premier League rivals Leeds United, while Jimenez returned to his former club Wolves in the Championship.

As a result, Fulham are now looking to strengthen their attacking options before beginning their new season against Chelsea.

Arbeloa already knows exactly where he wants Fulham to look as he begins rebuilding his squad at Craven Cottage.

According to The Sun, Arbeloa wants Fulham to sign Real Madrid duo Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono and is pushing for both deals.

Garcia played regularly under Arbeloa at Real Madrid last season and scored ten goals in 32 appearances under the Spanish manager.

The 22-year-old had also scored eight goals under Arbeloa’s predecessor Xabi Alonso before his departure from Santiago Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, Mastantuono made 18 appearances under the new Fulham manager last season and scored twice during that period.

Real Madrid signed the Argentina international from River Plate last year in a deal worth £38 million.

However, the 18-year-old would likely only be available on loan if Fulham manage to complete a deal this summer.

The Cottagers are also looking elsewhere as Arbeloa attempts to add more options to his squad before the new campaign.

Fulham have expressed interest in Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, who is valued at £25 million by his current club.

Meanwhile, Yves Bissouma has been training at Fulham’s Motspur Park base after Tottenham released him last month.

However, Fulham are currently not interested in signing Bissouma despite the midfielder training at their base.

Now, Arbeloa wants to use his Real Madrid connections as Fulham push to strengthen their squad before the new season begins.
