Arsenal could face another late squad decision after Borussia Dortmund showed interest in one of Mikel Arteta’s attacking options.
The Gunners have already overseen significant changes during a busy summer, strengthening several areas while sanctioning major departures.
Bruno Guimaraes arrived from Newcastle United for £75 million, while Ezri Konsa joined from Aston Villa for £55 million.
Christos Tzolis also moved to north London, and Arsenal made Piero Hincapie’s previous loan agreement permanent.
Their outgoing business has accelerated during the closing stages, particularly across Arteta’s attacking department.
Gabriel Martinelli is finalising a £55.7 million move to Al-Hilal, while Gabriel Jesus has travelled to Spain ahead of joining Barcelona.
Arsenal could now receive further interest in another attacking player before the transfer window closes.
According to Patrick Berger, Borussia Dortmund are exploring a loan move for Arsenal attacking midfielder Ethan Nwaneri.
Dortmund are considering the 19-year-old after summer signing Giannis Konstantelias suffered an ACL injury.
The German side had already explored signing Nwaneri on loan last year, but the clubs failed to agree terms.
Nwaneri subsequently spent part of last season on loan with Olympique Marseille in France.
He made 11 appearances across all competitions during that spell, scoring twice and providing one assist.
Dortmund have now returned to the possibility of signing him as they assess replacements for Konstantelias.
However, no final decision has been made, with the club also considering alternative options before completing any move.
Arsenal’s own attacking situation remains fluid following the departures involving Martinelli and Jesus.
The Gunners are also pursuing Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez as they attempt to reshape Arteta’s frontline.
Dortmund’s interest in Nwaneri could therefore present Arsenal with another late decision as the transfer window enters its final hours.
