It has been a busy transfer window so far for AS Monaco.
Left-back Ismail Jakobs has joined Galatasaray for €8 million and centre-back Chrislain Matsima has arrived at FC Ausburg for €5 million, both making their loan spells permanent.
They have since signed defender Eric Dier and midfielder Paul Pogba.
Dier arrives on a free transfer after his contract at Bayern Munich came to an end.
Pogba also arrives on a free transfer, after being without a club following the termination of his contract at Juventus in November.
Monaco will be looking to add reinforcements to the squad as they look to improve on their third place finish in Ligue 1 last season.
This was a decline on their runners up finish a year prior.
They also made it to the knockout phase playoffs in the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League season.
They were defeated 4-3 on aggregate by Benfica after an exciting 3-3 second leg draw.
Manager Adi Hütter will hope the team can make the jump up next season.
The team are set to sign a player that he will hope can make this happen.
AS Monaco to officially announce FC Barcelona player
It has been reported that Monaco will announce the signing of Barcelona forward Ansu Fati on Tuesday.
On a one-year loan deal, Fati will join Pogba in trying to rebuild his reputation.
Once dubbed the “next Messi” and given the number 10 shirt, Fati has failed to live up to this hype.
He spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Fati only managed four goals in 27 appearances, failing to claim a regular spot in the starting lineup.
He only played more than 45 minutes three times in domestic competitions, two of these coming in the Premier League.
Fati had more success in the Europa League, scoring two goals in four Europa League group stage appearances.
Now joining Monaco, Fati will be hoping to become the player that Barcelona fans once thought he would be.
