This summer is the beginning of a new era for AS Roma.
With Gian Piero Gasperini at the helm after nine years in Atalanta, there is a lot of optimism around the fanbase.
That positivity only strengthened with a 1-0 win and impressive performance at home to Bologna in their Serie A opener.
New signing Wesley scored and was awarded man of the match, whilst fellow new recruit Evan Ferguson looked very sharp.
Well, there could be another signing joining those two and the rest of the squad.
As per Fabrizio Romano, the Italians have approached Liverpool for Kostas Tsimikas.
He reports it would be an initial loan deal, and that the player wants the move.
However, Liverpool prefer a permanent exit, and that there are two others clubs interested in the player.
During his time on Merseyside, Tsimikas has struggled for game time, making just 35 league starts in five seasons.
That situation has only got worse too, with the signing of Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth.
He was already second choice behind Andy Robertson, but is now third choice behind those two players.
It is clear for the sake of his own career that he needs to go somewhere he will play games regularly.
Another year on the bench – if that – would be a waste of time and of talent.
Let’s see what happens.
