Aston Villa set to sign Real Madrid star

Villa remain firmly in the race and their need for attacking depth could strengthen their case.

Aston Villa are preparing for another demanding season after an excellent 2025–26 campaign under Unai Emery.

They finished fourth in the Premier League and secured Champions League qualification for the second time in three seasons.

Villa also ended their long wait for major silverware by winning the Europa League. Emery’s side defeated Freiburg 3–0 in the final.

Meanwhile, Ollie Watkins finished as their leading scorer with 21 goals across all competitions. The club have since reshaped the squad heavily.

Morgan Rogers joined Chelsea for £117 million, while Youri Tielemans moved to Manchester United. Lucas Digne also left for Paris Saint-Germain.

Villa responded by signing Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes, while Alejandro Garnacho arrived on loan. Matteo Ruggeri is also closing in on a move from Atletico Madrid.

Their pre-season has included wins over Walsall, an Indonesia XI and BG Pathum United.

Villa also suffered defeats against Real Sociedad and Bayern Munich as Emery prepares his squad for the UEFA Super Cup against PSG. Another attacking addition could now follow.

According to AS, Aston Villa have submitted a proposal to sign Endrick on loan from Real Madrid.

The Spanish club are prepared to let the 20-year-old leave temporarily after initially preferring to keep him.

Jose Mourinho has opted for a smaller squad, which could limit Endrick’s opportunities next season.

Real Madrid want the Brazilian to join a Champions League club where he can play regularly as a centre-forward. Villa fit both conditions and want another striker capable of deputising for Watkins.

Endrick spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon. He scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 21 appearances across all competitions.

Roma have also made a proposal and are currently considered the frontrunners for his signature.

Villa remain firmly in the race, though, and their need for attacking depth could strengthen their case.

With Rogers gone and Watkins carrying much of the scoring responsibility, Endrick could provide Emery with another high-level option for a season packed with domestic and European fixtures.
