Next summer, multiple clubs will be eyeing a move for Julian Alvarez. The Argentine has become a prolific striker since he joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City.
The fact is, he moved out of the shadows of Erling Haaland. At Manchester City, Alvarez was not the main striker. Pep Guardiola relied on Haaland more.
That is why he didn’t get enough game time. Also, when Kevin De Bruyne was injured, Guardiola played Alvarez in his position.
So, when Atletico came calling, Alvarez did not hesitate to make the move. And since then, he has become one of the most talked-about strikers in Europe.
In 91 games for the Madrid club, the Argentine has scored 41 times in all competitions. That is why he has now become a target for most European clubs.
Next summer, multiple clubs will be eyeing a move for Alvarez. First of all, Barcelona will be looking to replace Robert Lewandowski, and Alvarez is their primary target, along with Harry Kane.
Apart from the Catalan giants, the current Premier League leaders, Arsenal, will be eyeing a new striker as they are not happy with the output of Viktor Gyokeres.
Furthermore, Gabriel Jesus could be on his way out of the club. So, they need a replacement for him. That is why Julian Alvarez will be a top target for the Gunners.
As for Chelsea, Joao Pedro has done a decent job. However, Liam Delap has been disappointing. His time at Stamford Bridge has been marred by injuries.
That is why Liam Delap could leave next summer, as the Blues might make a move for the former Manchester City striker.
With so many top European clubs eyeing a move, Atletico Madrid have set a €200 million asking price for Julian Alvarez, according to Cadena SER.
If the move happens and Atletico receive a bid of worth €200 million, then it will be the second-highest transfer fee in history after Neymar’s €222 million move.
