Barcelona are still undecided on what they would like to do with Marcus Rashford. There is no doubt that the Catalan giants are happy with the England international.
However, they are unwilling to match the €30 million Manchester United are asking for, according to the buyout clause agreed during the loan deal.
They are looking to reduce that fee because of his age. Rashford is 28, and Barcelona believe they can sign a good player at that price with a younger age.
But United believe that they should be getting £50 million at least because of the way Rashford played for the Catalan giants.
Now, the Catalan giants already have a player in mind they could target if they fail to sign Marcus Rashford. Hansi Flick wants to sign a winger next summer.
The German coach is very much impressed with Rashford. But if Barcelona cannot sign him, then he wants to sign an alternative player of a similar profile.
Sporting Director Deco has already found an ideal alternative for the Manchester United loanee. And the age profile perfectly matches what Hansi Flick is trying to build at Camp Nou.
According to Onze Mondial (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Barcelona are eyeing a move for Olympique Lyon winger Malick Fofana.
The 20-year-old Belgian has a contract with Lyon until 2028. So far, he has impressed this season by making 12 appearances, scoring twice and assisting once.
Currently, Fofana is set to miss several games for Lyon due to the ACL injury he recently suffered. Reportedly, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also monitoring the situation of the Belgian.
Everton also made a bid in late 2025, but Fofana rejected the move as he wants to play in the Champions League.
So, if Barcelona want to sign Malick Fofana, they must act quickly. Otherwise, there are other European heavyweights ready to secure his signature.
