Julian Alvarez will be a target for multiple clubs next summer. The former Manchester City striker has been a revelation for Atletico Madrid since joining the Spanish side.
So, quite naturally, Barcelona are eyeing a move for the Argentine after his successful first two seasons with the Los Rojiblancos.
This season, in over 44 games, Alvarez has already made 30 goal contributions. And that is why multiple clubs across Europe are eyeing a move for the 26-year-old.
Now, from the beginning, Atletico Madrid have been firm on their valuation of the players. They will not sell Alvarez for anything under €100 million.
The Los Colchoneros signed him for €95 million and gave him a contract until 2030. Also, they reportedly included a release clause of €500 million in his contract.
It just shows how much Atletico value Julian Alvarez. Therefore, pricing him away from Los Rojiblancos will not be easy.
Now, the presence of clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG makes things complicated for Barcelona in their pursuit of the Argentine.
The Catalan giants are not in a great financial situation. So, they will struggle to meet the demands of Atletico.
Also, these other clubs, such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG, can easily match the money Barcelona will offer to both Atletico and Alvarez.
So, Barcelona know that if there is any transfer race for Alvarez, they will be losing it. That is why they have made a smart decision.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have decided that they will not meet Atletico Madrid’s demands for Alavarez.
Instead, they will be hoping for the Argentine to submit a transfer request, and then, they could negotiate suitable terms for the deal. It is highly unlikely that Alvarez would do anything like that.
Still, in the transfer market, anything can happen, and if Alvarez does put in a transfer request, then Barcelona will become active again in this transfer race.
