Barcelona want to sign €50M Germany striker

Signing a striker remains part of Barcelona’s plans following Robert Lewandowski’s departure on a free transfer this summer.

Barcelona enjoyed a highly successful 2025-26 domestic campaign after winning their 29th La Liga title under Hansi Flick.

The Catalan giants won all 19 league matches at the renovated Camp Nou and also lifted the Supercopa de Espana.

However, Atletico Madrid eliminated them from both the Copa del Rey and Champions League.

Barcelona have since strengthened Flick’s squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, particularly in attacking areas.

Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi have already arrived, while Ronald Araujo joined Liverpool on loan.

Barcelona are also pursuing Manchester City midfielder Rodri during the remaining weeks of the window.

However, signing another striker remains part of their plans following Robert Lewandowski’s departure on a free transfer this summer.

Barcelona have explored Julian Alvarez as their priority option for that position. However, Atletico Madrid are refusing to sell their forward to a major rival.

According to CaughtOffside, Barcelona are now accelerating their interest in Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, who could cost around €45M to €50M.

The 21-year-old has also attracted interest from Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, creating a four-club race for his signature.

Club Brugge are aware of the growing interest but have already demonstrated that they will not accept a low offer. Roma previously submitted a €35M bid, which the Belgian club rejected.

Barcelona could currently have an advantage, with multiple sources indicating they are favourites and have stepped up their pursuit.

Meanwhile, Manchester United view Tresoldi as potential competition for Benjamin Sesko, although their interest could depend on Joshua Zirkzee’s future.

Chelsea are also prepared to offload Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson while considering changes to their attacking options.

Tottenham Hotspur have already spent heavily this summer but still want another attacking addition following Randal Kolo Muani’s loan spell.

Barcelona therefore face significant competition if they pursue Tresoldi, but their accelerating interest could make the closing stages of the transfer window important.
