Bayern Munich got their 2025/26 season off to the perfect start last weekend.
On the Friday night Bundesliga season opener, Bayern showed the rest of the league that they are still the team to beat.
Bayern earned a mammoth 6-0 win over RB Leipzig, with Harry Kane recording his ninth hat-trick in Germany’s top flight.
The club goes into the season with an already excellent attack, featuring Kane, Michael Olise, Serge Gnabry and new signing Luis Díaz, who arrived from Liverpool this summer.
They could be about to add one further attacker to a squad that lost Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman and club legend Thomas Müller this summer.
Bayern Munich agree loan deal for Chelsea attacker
According to reports, Bayern are set to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson on a season long loan.
The loan deal will include a €15 million fee, along with €80 million buy option clause, which is not mandatory.
Jackson has struggled for consistency since joining Chelsea from Villarreal for £32 million two summers ago.
This came six months after he failed a medical at AFC Bournemouth due to hamstring issues.
Jackson has scored 30 goals across his first two seasons at the club, but has often struggled for consistency.
He has also been criticised for his wastefulness in front of goal, with comparisons made between him and former Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez.
After the additions of attackers Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Estêvão and Jamie Gittens for a combined €189.2 million, the writing has been on the wall for Jackson.
Under a manager in Enzo Maresca, who did not sign him, his future was always at risk given Chelsea’s thirst for spending.
A needless red card at the FIFA Club World Cup certainly did not help his case, despite scoring the crucial second goal in the UEFA Conference League final win over Real Betis last season.
With a chance of a fresh start in Germany, Jackson now has the opportunity to repair his reputation as a goalscorer with one of the biggest clubs in the world.
