It has been a busy summer at Brentford Football Club.

Brentford have signed attacking midfielder Antoni Milambo for €20 million, right-back Michael Kayode €17.5 million, and goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher for €14.8 million.

However, they have also seen two crucial players leave in Bryan Mbuemo and club captain Christian Nørgaard.

They have earned €96.6 million from player sales, and they could easily do a Brighton and invest in better players and improve the squad.

The loss of manager Thomas Frank may prove to be the most crucial departure, one that may hinder any chances of Brentford seeing improvement.

Not only has Frank left the club, but several others have left the coaching staff.

Former Premier League midfielder Keith Andrews was announced as Frank’s replacement, after a year as the club’s set piece coach.

This is a tough ask for anyone, let alone someone in their first ever stint as a first team manager replacing a club legend.

Brentford would probably have never reached Premier League promotion in 2021 had Frank not been there, leaving the biggest of shoes to fill for Andrews.

With players now departing the club, and key ones at that, this has led to widespread fears that relegation from the Premier League could be on the way.

The player departures could be set to continue in the next month.

Brentford star FURIOUS over failed move

According to reports, Brentford striker Yoane Wissa is said to be furious after hopes of move to Newcastle United had fallen through.

The news was  announced this weekend that Newcastle United had pulled out of a move for Wissa with the London side refusing to sell their £26 million rated striker.

Wissa was a big part of Brentford’s success in the 2024/25 season, with 19 goals and four assists in 35 Premier League matches.

His arrival at Newcastle would be welcomed should Alexander Isak leave the club.

With Hugo Ekitike choosing Liverpool over them and Dominic Calvert-Lewin also rumoured to turn them down, they need to find a striker to fill the potential seismic void left by Isak.

Meanwhile, for Brentford, they will naturally want to keep Wissa, but if a player wants to leave then they may have no choice then to consider letting him leave for Newcastle.
