Chelsea enter the new season hoping for a major improvement after a difficult 2025/26 campaign.
The Blues finished 10th in the Premier League after experiencing significant managerial instability throughout the season.
Xabi Alonso has since taken charge and overseen another major rebuild during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea broke their transfer record by signing Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for £117 million.
Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra and Valentin Barco also arrived as Alonso reshaped his squad.
However, Chelsea could still make another significant attacking addition before the transfer window closes.
Pedro Neto’s future has created further uncertainty, with Manchester City and Al-Hilal interested in the Portugal international.
Chelsea could consequently enter the market for another wide forward if Neto leaves Stamford Bridge.
According to Calciomercato, an agent is trying to bring Rafael Leao to Chelsea from AC Milan.
The Portuguese forward appears likely to leave Milan before the end of the summer transfer window.
Leao wants to move to the Premier League, although Galatasaray have also pushed strongly for his signature.
The Turkish club have already spoken with Milan and the player’s representatives about a possible transfer.
Galatasaray have offered € 35 million, including bonuses, but Milan currently want around €45 million for Leao.
The Italian giants would accept either a permanent transfer or a favourable loan containing an obligation to buy.
Galatasaray have also offered Leao a five-year contract worth between € 10 million and € 12 million net per season.
However, the 27-year-old currently prefers a move to England despite keeping the Turkish option open.
Roma also contacted Milan about Leao but decided against pursuing a deal because of the costs involved.
Leao also has little desire to remain in Serie A, while Saudi Arabia remains another possible destination.
Chelsea could therefore provide the Premier League opportunity Leao wants if Neto leaves the club this summer.
