Chelsea continue to reshape their squad under new head coach Xabi Alonso. The Blues have already invested heavily after a disappointing Premier League campaign.
Club officials have backed Alonso with several major signings ahead of the new season. Morgan Rogers became Chelsea’s record signing after arriving from Aston Villa.
Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda and Emmanuel Emegha have also joined Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, experienced duo Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson are closing in on moves to West London. Despite those arrivals, Chelsea are still assessing further additions.
The club remain eager to strengthen several positions before the transfer window closes. Defensive reinforcements are among the areas still under consideration.
Now, Chelsea have identified another experienced option. According to El Universal, Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz has attracted interest from Chelsea following his impressive performances.
The Colombian enjoyed another strong Premier League season with Crystal Palace. Munoz scored four goals and registered four assists in 29 league appearances.
His energy and attacking runs also made him one of Palace’s most consistent performers throughout the campaign. Moreover, he carried that form into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 30-year-old scored twice during Colombia’s group-stage campaign, including the winning goal against DR Congo that secured qualification for the knockout rounds.
Barcelona and AC Milan are also monitoring the defender. However, Chelsea know the right-back well after watching his performances in the Premier League.
Any deal could prove difficult to complete. Crystal Palace tied Munoz to a contract until 2028 and are under no pressure to sell.
The London club are therefore expected to demand a significant transfer fee before considering any offers.
Chelsea remain interested, but negotiations will depend on whether they decide to formalise their interest later in the summer window.
