After winning the FIFA Club World Cup, Chelsea will be looking to replicate their international success in the domestic and European circuit.
The Blues are scheduled to play Bayer Levekusen and AC Milan before they kick-off their Premier League campaign against the current FA Cup champions, Crystal Palace.
Enzo Maresca has been quite active in the transfer market. He has already signed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens.
So, Chelsea will be looking to build a team that can be competitive not only in England but also in Europe.
However, one man played a key role in the recent success of the Blues. Along with Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez has been a key player for Enzo Maresca.
Also, Cole Palmer has been crucial when it comes to dictating terms from the midfielder for Chelsea.
However, Real Madrid have one Chelsea midfielder in mind who they believe can change their fortunes.
After a disappointing 2024/25 season where the Los Blancos went trophyless, they decided to change their manager.
Carlo Ancelotti took up the role of managing the Brazilian national team.
And, Florentino Perez decided to bring in Xabi Alonso as his replacement after his successful spell as the manager of Bayer Leverkusen.
The Club World Cup was his first tournament in charge of Real Madrid. Most people thought Madrid would be the favourites to win the competition.
However, what happened in the semi-final against PSG reminded Xabi Alonso and Florentino Perez that they need to invest in the midfielder department.
That is why they are eyeing Enzo Fernandez, according to Fichajes. Xabi Alonso feels that the Argentine can solve his midfield problem. Fernandez is open to joining Madrid this summer.
Real Madrid is ready to offer €150 million. But, they would want to sell the likes of Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, and Fran Garcia to facilitate this deal, according to the same report.
Real Madrid are also eyeing a move for the Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. No matter who they sign, we can expect to see a new face in Madrid’s midfield this summer.
