Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has had a peculiar two seasons with the club.

He arrived from Villarreal for £32 million in the summer of 2023.

This came six months on from a failed move to AFC Bournemouth.

His statistics suggest a somewhat successful period at the club.

Jackson has netted 30 goals in 81 total games across all competitions.

This includes 17 in the Premier League in 2023/24 and 10 in 2024/25.

He also grabbed a brace in May’s UEFA Conference League semi-final win over Djurgården and gave Chelsea the lead in their win over Real Betis in the final.

However, there is a growing feeling that he could have done more.

Drawing comparisons with Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez, Jackson has been guilty of being wasteful in front of goal.

His red card in a loss to Brazilian side Flamengo in the FIFA Club World Cup frustrated a lot of Chelsea fans.

The summer additions of Liam Delap and João Pedro have only intensified discussions on his future.

With Enzo Maresca not being the manager who signed Jackson, there is every chance that the Senegal international will not be wearing a Chelsea shirt at the start of the season.

He has been linked with a move away, and Chelsea have set their asking price.

According to reports, Chelsea have set a price tag of £100 million for Jackson.

Serie A giants AC Milan have been a strongly linked with a move, Jackson reportedly on a six-man shortlist.

So far, Milan have only spent money on one player, Samuele Ricci arriving from Torino for €23 million.

Meanwhile, they have seen Tijjani Reijnders join Manchester City for €55 million and Theo Hernández move to Saudi Arabia for €25 million.

Pierre Kalulu has also left, joining Juventus for €14.3 million, with Marco Pellegrino singing for Boca Juniors in a fee worth €3.5 million.

Milan have money to spend, and with the future of Rafael Leão up in the air, they could have even more to use.

In a league where Chelsea flop Romelu Lukaku has excelled since leaving the club, Serie A may just suit Jackson down to the ground.
