Chelsea often get linked with midfielders. Also, the Blues are always scanning the market for new players.
Over the past few years, Chelsea have made big money signings regularly. That is why this summer, names like Rodrygo and Gonzalo Garcia were thrown in the mix.
Also, recently, reports came out that Chelsea were eyeing moves for Vinicius Junior and even Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Also, there were speculations about a potential return for Antonio Rudiger. Now, however, another heavyweight name has entered the conversation.
According to reports from Spain, Chelsea have made a bold move for Federico Valverde. As per Fichajes, the Premier League side have tabled an offer worth €120 million to Real Madrid
The report claims that new Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior sees Valverde as the perfect figure to build his midfield around.
The size of the proposed bid underlines just how highly Madrid rate the Uruguayan internally, with Chelsea seemingly prepared to make him one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.
Also, Valverde is not happy at Madrid. Xabi Alonso often played him out of position. However, the Alonso gone, things might change under Alvaro Arbeloa.
However, in the past, Real Madrid have allowed key players to leave when clubs have made the right offer. Manchester United are the prime example of that.
In recent years, Los Blancos have allowed the departures of stars such as Casemiro, Angel Di María, and Raphael Varane to Old Trafford as they made the right offers.
It will be interesting to see whether this €120 million proposal is enough to force Madrid into serious talks.
For now, it is another reminder that Chelsea’s ambition in the market shows no signs of slowing down, even if this particular saga ultimately goes nowhere.
