Chelsea are continuing to search for attacking reinforcements this summer after another disappointing campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues failed to qualify for European football and are now preparing for a major rebuild ahead of next season.
Several areas of the squad could change once Xabi Alonso officially takes charge as manager. One of the club’s priorities remains improving creativity in wide positions.
Chelsea have already explored multiple attacking targets during the early stages of the transfer window. However, competition for several players has become increasingly difficult.
The club were previously monitoring West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen following the Hammers’ relegation to the Championship.
Yet Chelsea now understand that securing Bowen could prove complicated. Bowen’s wages could remain unaffected despite West Ham dropping into the second division.
As a result, the Blues have intensified their pursuit of younger attacking talents across Europe. According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are now considering a move for AIK wonderkid Zadok Yohanna.
The 18-year-old winger has emerged as one of the most exciting young players in Scandinavia after producing impressive performances for AIK this season.
Yohanna has already registered five goals and four assists since joining the Swedish side last summer.
Brighton and Newcastle United have both already submitted offers worth around £20.5 million for the teenager.
Because AIK are listed on the stock market, the Swedish club were forced to publicly confirm negotiations involving the player.
However, Chelsea are now threatening to hijack those deals. The Blues have discussed submitting an offer worth around £21.6 million including bonuses to move ahead in the race.
Now, Chelsea appear ready to accelerate their pursuit as they attempt to secure one of Europe’s most exciting young attacking talents before rival clubs make their next move.
