Next summer, Chelsea will be looking to reshape their squad. After appointing Liam Rosenior as their manager, the Blues will be looking to back their new boss.
Now, one of the biggest decisions they have taken is the sale of Enzo Fernandez. Real Madrid are showing interest in the Argentine World Cup winner.
However, Chelsea will demand a huge fee for the player. He has a contract with the Blues that runs until 2031. So, the London club are in a strong position.
But they are willing to negotiate if a club submits a serious offer for the 25-year-old. Also, they are looking to replace Fernandez without compromising on the quality.
Chelsea are reportedly looking for a bid of around €120 million. Now, they are ready to reinvest that amount to sign his replacement.
Liam Rosenior already knows the player he would like to sign if Chelsea sell Enzo Fernandez. According to Fichajes, the Blues would eye a move for Joao Neves if the Argentine leaves.
Chelsea know that signing Neves will not be easy. PSG will not be ready to let him leave. The Portuguese played a key role in helping PSG win the Champions League last time.
So, they will be looking for a fee of around €125 million, as per the same report. Now, this can only happen if Real Madrid pursue Fernandez.
However, in the past few years, the Los Blancos have avoided going after players with such a high transfer fee. They have relied on signing free agents.
But Florentino Perez knows that the midfield has been a problem for the Spanish giants. That is why he would like to sign a good midfielder.
However, the Real Madrid president wants to sign Erling Haaland as well. So, it will be unlikely that the Los Blancos pursue both deal in the same transfer window.
