Manchester City are preparing for a major new era following the departure of Pep Guardiola at the end of the 2025-26 season.
However, the club continue building for the future both on and off the pitch. Guardiola closed his legendary spell at the Etihad Stadium with another successful campaign.
City lifted both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during his final season while also pushing Arsenal closely in the Premier League title race until the closing weeks.
The Spaniard ended his decade-long reign with 20 major trophies. His tenure included six Premier League titles and the club’s first Champions League triumph.
Meanwhile, Manchester City also confirmed the expanded North Stand would carry Guardiola’s name moving forward. Now, Enzo Maresca will take charge of the club on a three-year contract.
Maresca previously worked under Guardiola during Manchester City’s Treble-winning campaign.
He returns following a successful spell at Chelsea. At Stamford Bridge, he secured Champions League qualification and won the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Manchester City are also planning significant squad changes ahead of Maresca’s first season.
The club continue pushing for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, while Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali also remains under consideration.
However, Manchester City are also securing some of their brightest young talents for the long term.
The club officially confirmed that Divine Mukasa has signed a new contract keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2030.
The 18-year-old joined Manchester City in 2023 and quickly established himself as one of the most exciting players inside the academy system.
Mukasa played a major role in the club’s FA Youth Cup triumph during the 2023-24 campaign before producing 16 goals and 15 assists in only 20 Under-18 Premier League appearances last season.
The midfielder made his first-team debut in September 2025 and has already featured six times for Manchester City’s senior side.
He also gained important experience during a loan spell at Leicester City where he recorded two goals and three assists in 15 Championship appearances.
