Chelsea’s squad rebuild has left several players on the outside looking in.
Over the past two seasons, the club have made aggressive moves in the transfer market.
New signings have arrived in almost every position, with competition for places increasing.
For some players, opportunities have disappeared completely.
One of the most notable absences has been Ukrainian winger, Mykhailo Mudryk, once seen as a major long-term investment.
At the time of signing in 2023, the 25-year-old was Chelsea’s fourth most expensive signing.
The winger hasn’t featured for Chelsea since November 2024.
Since then, he has been training away from the main squad, having been banned for doping.
That isn’t the only thing the Ukrainian’s been banned for, as he looks to beat his case within the upcoming months.
Chelsea winger set for loan move
According to L’Equipe, Chelsea are considering sending Mykhailo Mudryk out on loan in order to rebuild his career.
The report suggests the club are exploring options for when the winger can return to competitive action.
And one destination is already being discussed.
Further reports indicate that a move to RC Strasbourg is seen as a realistic possibility.
The Ligue 1 outfit are part of the same ownership structure as Chelsea, both owned by majority shareholders, BlueCo.
That relationship has already seen several players move between the two clubs.
The idea would be to give Mudryk regular game time away from the pressure of the Premier League.
This would also allow him to regain fitness and confidence, giving Chelsea the chance to monitor his progress closely.
Mudryk’s situation remains uncertain for now.
Much will depend on when he is cleared to return to football, however the club appear to be planning ahead.
A loan move could offer a fresh start.
And Strasbourg may provide the platform he needs to rebuild his career.
