Manchester United are on the verge of parting ways with one player who has become a burden to their wage structure.
Yes, Jadon Sancho is finally on the brink of leaving Manchester United, and this time for good.
It was supposed to be a fairytale return to England. Big price tag, high hopes, and all eyes were on him.
But three years later, it has become clear that this chapter is ending far differently than expected.
The English winger joined the club in 2021 for £73 million.
He arrived from Borussia Dortmund after dazzling in the Bundesliga with 50 goals and 57 assists.
Many believed he would light up the Premier League.
But things never truly clicked at Old Trafford. His numbers dipped. His form wavered. And a falling out with Erik ten Hag made matters worse.
After short and mixed loan spells at both Dortmund and Chelsea, neither club decided to keep him.
Chelsea even paid a penalty to avoid making the move permanent.
Now, under new boss Ruben Amorim, Sancho is clearly not in United’s plans. His contract runs out next summer. So, this window offers one final chance to cash in.
According to TEAMtalk, Juventus are now in advanced talks. Daily discussions are underway with both the player’s agent and Manchester United.
A four-year contract has already been agreed. The winger is set to earn close to €6 million per season, plus bonuses.
As for the fee, this is where it gets shocking. After starting with a higher asking price, Manchester United are now ready to accept around €17–18 million (£15m – £15.5m).
That is nearly £58 million less than what they paid just a few years ago.
There is also a severance package that still needs sorting. Juventus may cover part or all of it to help close the deal.
Optimism is growing in Turin. And unless something changes, Sancho is all set to begin a new chapter in black and white.
