Liverpool are not messing around this summer. The club is moving fast, and it is starting to show.
Some fans are calling this the most exciting transfer window in years and it is still only the beginning of July.
New faces like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez have already arrived.
All three are in place early enough to enjoy a full pre-season. But Liverpool are not stopping just yet.
There is one more position they are still working on.
After losing Jarell Quansah, the Reds wanted someone with Premier League experience.
They want a defender who can lead at the back and handle big moments.
The club had been watching closely since March and had already spoken with the player’s representatives behind the scenes.
This particular centre-back has been a key figure for both club and country.
He helped his side lift their first-ever FA Cup title, beating Manchester City in a tense 1–0 final at Wembley.
He also played a major role in England’s run to the Euro 2024 final, starting nearly every match.
Liverpool have now taken the next step.
According to DaveOCKOP, the Reds have reached full agreement on personal terms with Marc Guehi.
The 24-year-old has agreed on his wages and the length of the deal. Now, the only thing left is to reach a deal with Crystal Palace.
Palace are open to talks but want a fair deal. Things are slightly tricky because Chelsea hold a 20% sell-on clause from Guehi’s £18 million move in 2021.
Still, Liverpool believe the move is worth it. Guehi fits the homegrown quota, brings top-level experience, and would give Arne Slot another strong option at the back.
Talks are ongoing, but the green light from the player signals Liverpool’s intent to wrap this up quickly.
