Liverpool have got the job done. They have secured the signing of Alexander Isak. The reported fee for the deal is £130 million.

However, Liverpool are not done yet in this transfer window. They are also looking to sign another player before the transfer market shuts.

They have been pursuing a defender for a long time. Since they let Jarell Quansah leave to Bayer Leverkusen, they wanted to sign a defender.

Talks have gone on with many defenders, but there was only one man Arne Slot wanted. The Liverpool boss have already signed a defender in Giovanni Leoni.

The young Italian defender has also received an international call-up. Now, Arne is looking to sign an experienced defender.

The Dutch manager wants to find a defender who has experience of playing in the Premier League.

The Reds have been looking to sign Mar Guehi from Crystal Palace. However, they wanted to sign Alexander Isak first.

Yet, signing Isak was not the only agenda on the list for Liverpool. They wanted to get the Isak deal over the line as soon as possible.

Once that deal was completed with Newcastle, the Reds have started focusing on the deal for Marc Guehi.

The personal terms have been agreed with Marc Guehi, and the only thing left is Liverpool agreeing on a fee with Crystal Palace.

However, the current FA Cup champions are looking to sign a replacement first. They have also made an enquiry about Joe Gomez from Liverpool.

But the Liverpool centre-back wants to join AC Milan. Now, according to DaveOCKOP, Liverpool have had positive talks for the signing of Marc Guehi.

They are preparing contracts and once the green light is given, Marc Guehi will sign as a Liverpool player before the transfer window shuts.
