Liverpool are having a tough season. The Red were expecting to conquer Europe this season along with England.
They already won the Premier League last season. It was the first season under Arne Slot. And nobody expected Liverpool to turn up the way they did.
However, their success was primarily due to the performance of Mohamed Salah. It was perhaps his best season in a Liverpool shirt.
But this season, the Egyptian is struggling big time. Liverpool may even consider selling him, and the Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad have already opened talks with the Egyptian.
Now, Liverpool will also be looking to add a centre-back to their squad. As Ibrahima Konate could leave next summer, they will be eyeing a replacement.
The Reds have already set their sights on Micky van de Ven from Tottenham Hotspur. However, Manchester United and Real Madrid are also in the race for the Dutch international.
That is why they are also looking at a Bundesliga star. According to Fussballdaten, Liverpool are looking at a possible move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.
The 27-year-old has performed well for the Bundesliga giants. Leverkusen are looking at a fee of around €60 million. However, his release clause is around €100 million.
The German club signed Tabsoba for €20 million in 2020. So, Liverpool will be looking to reduce the fee as much as possible.
However, Tabsoba’s contract will expire in 2028. So, it will be tough work for the Reds if they try to reduce the fee, as many other European clubs are tracking the Burkina Faso international.

Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on the Bayer Leverkusen centre-back, but face competition from PSG, with Real Madrid also monitoring the situation closely.
